As you can probably surmise from its name--if you're familiar with AMD's naming convention--the Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition is virtually identical to the 955 it supplants at the top of AMD's desktop processor line-up, save for the 965's higher default clock speed. Whereas the 955 clocked in at a speedy 3.2GHz, the new 965 arrives at a lofty 3.4GHz, making it the highest clocked CPU to come from AMD to date.

The Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition is based on the same core as all current socket AM3, quad-core Phenom II processors and it as the same cache configuration and overall feature set. There are some slight differences to its specifications, however, which we have listed for you below. The 965 BE's differentiating features are, as we've mentioned, it's higher frequency of 3.4GHz and also its higher maximum TDP of 140W. Please take note of the higher TDP, as not all socket AM2+/AM3 motherboards will support it.

Once you're done taking a gander at the specifications below, check out some related articles and hunker down for some testing and benchmarks as we find out what AMD's new Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition is made of...

Model / Processor Frequency : AMD Phenom II Processor Model X4 965 (3.4GHz)
L1 Cache Sizes : 64K of L1 instruction and 64K of L1 data cache per core (512KB total L1 per processor)
L2 Cache Sizes : 512KB of L2 data cache per core (2MB total L2 per X4 processor)
L3 Cache Size (shared) : 6MB
Total Cache (L2+L3) : 8MB
Memory Controller Frequency : Up to 2.0GHz with Dual Dynamic Power Management
Types of Memory : Unreg. The Dragon Platform itself is not new, however. In fact, most of its core components have already been available for quite some time now. As such, we have already covered them in-depth here on HotHardware in previous articles, so we won't do the same again here. We will, however, recommend that you take a look at a few recent articles to get familiar with the underlying technology and components that comprise AMD's Dragon platform.

ASUS N 50Vn-B1B Laptop

Summary – The dream of computer and laptop designers all over the world to design laptop replacing the home desktop pc has come thru with the ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop. The lap top provides something for every one in the family and may well become the trend for the future. While it lacks in a few areas in comparison to compatriots, it more than makes up the deficiencies with superiority in other spheres.

Manufacturers and designers were having a vision of a complete all purpose replacement for your desktop PC for quite some times. However it has been ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop that has fulfilled the dream. No wonder that the new lap top has all the ingredients and characteristics to replace your old desktop family PC and fill out the slot.

Whatever might be the purpose for your use of the PC, family photos, videos, or for any other purpose like managing various software applications, the lap top is suitable for all your purpose. It can even be the manager of your home budget. Multitasking operators will find the ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop especially suitable for their purposes.

The lap top also provides something for every member of your family. Kids can play the latest video games whereas your spouse can enjoy latest video and music. You can enjoy very high quality movies or graphics with the superb Nvidia graphics card. The best news for you is that the price is quite affordable despite all these features at around $1,250. ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop is meant to be affordable and user friendly. It won’t bleed you white financially.

When it comes to attractive appearance, ASUS has taken adequate care of the product. The glossy brown finish does not glow with bright colors. Yet the simple and homely design has something that is the current trend. It may not be the first thing that you will notice in either someone’s living or office room. Yet it has its own appeal for the customer who does no prefer trade off between glamour and quality. The ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop has close proximity to HP HDX16t and embeds suitable patterns under hard lamination.

Have a close look at the lap top and you will discover raining-dot patterns. These are something that will remind you of the data streams in movies such as “The Matrix”. Of course many would like the aluminum Apple MacBook Pro 15 inches with Dual Graphics or that of the metal and leather mounted Dell Studio XPS 16 for their appearances. The ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop at 6.7 pounds is not as light as the Sony VAIO VGN-FW198UH which comes to 6.4 pounds. It is lighter than the HDX16t that comes to 6.9 pounds. The lap top is a balance between ideal light travel and heavy burdensome luggage.

ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop provides you with a 15.4 inch screen following the traditional format of the 16.10 inch widescreen. It may not be as facile as the 16.9 is format now becoming popular and found in the widescreen HDTV or found in most of the new lap top models. They are quite prominent in the Dell Studio XPS 16, HP HDX16t, as well as the Acer 6930G-6723.

However the N50Vn-B1B screen is no way less competent in comparison to others. Watching the images on the screen is a pleasant experience. The reason is that departing from the tradition it uses 1,440 X 900 pixels resolution standards. Such resolution is sufficient for even the professional and most avid multitasking operators. Of course the ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop still falls short of the HP HDX16t with 1,920 X 1080 resolutions.

The full size keyboard with numeric keypad is great for all those number crunchers that require them for upcoming tax seasons mostly. ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop has a numeric keypad half the normal size. However it gives you better comfort and the responsive capabilities of the keypad is really great. Mouse buttons are large and they are also raised. They are not flush with the touchpad. Overall the structure is highly ergonomic for you. They are efficient and the only slight irritation you might have is due to the loud clicks caused by keystrokes.

Family PC is meant to satisfy all members of the family and should contain something for everyone. Features of the ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop do fulfill all these requirements effectively. You have three USB ports that are spread from right to left of the machine. A FireWire port helps compatibility of storage devices. MiniDV camcorder also can be attached to it. At his price range, the 320GB Hard Disk is a bonus. Yet those who require still more space, the eSATA port is provided so that you can add external storage. It is located conveniently on the front bezel.

HDMI port is another welcome feature in this laptop just as in the HP HDX16t, Dell Studio XPS 16 and the Acer 6930G-6723. It helps the steaming of videos for larger displays. You can use the LCD TV for convenience. Standard Webcam and the Fingerprint reader are all there. The fingerprint reader is wedged between the mouse buttons of the ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop.

2.4-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 that is used in the ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop is fast and at the same time energy efficient. The designers perhaps did not think of anything faster considering the adverse affects that could have on the battery life. One of the shortcomings of this laptop is that its 6-cell 51Wh battery is just the average in the market without much accelerating capacities. It completed 3 hours on the MobileMark 2007. However it was not much behind the HP HDX16t, Acer 6930G or the XPS 16. The only difference in battery life was when XPS 16 used its feature of adding a second battery with 85 Wh capacities. The score was four hours and twenty minutes and higher by an hour and twenty minutes to the scores registered by the ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop.

In terms of the memory powers the ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop faired better in comparison to Dell Studio XPS 16 by nearly 5 seconds when put to the video encoding test. This however is not a significant difference. The performance of the HP HDX16t was far better. But the reason is that it uses the fastest of the Intel Core 2 Duo processors.

On the other hand the performance of ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop in graphics was far superior to others with the Nvidia GeForce 9650M GT graphics card. Very few cards have such huge 1GB memory like this card. In result the N 50Vn-B1B beat both Dell XPS 16 and HP HDX16t when put to the 3DMark06 tests. Of course the other two have higher native resolutions especially suitable for frame sites. Yet on each and every benchmark tests, the ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop performed exceptionally well.

Balanced combination of high quality parts, excellent features, and affordable price makes the ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop one of the nicest of the family PCs. In comparison the prices of both Dell Studio XPS16 and the HP HDX16t are considerably higher. The reasons are that their branding and the trendier designs cost more money. Despite its down to earth appearance, the high performances and overall suitability of the ASUS N 50Vn-B1B laptop makes it a favorite to become the choicest replacement for the home desktop PCs.

Specification:

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo P8600
Screen Size: 15.4"
Graphics card: nVidia GeForce 9650M GS
Weight: 6.7 lbs
Memory: 4GB RAM
Hard Disk Capacity: 320 Gigabytes
Useful For: Gaming, general purpose

Price: $1200-$1300

System Mechanic 9.0.2.2

System Mechanic® keeps your PC running faster, cleaner and error-free. It's actually still fairly common for vendors to put a bunch of inexpensive, low-speed memory on entry-level boards, hoping that big number would register as better performance to the folks who haven't yet wrapped their heads around the idea that a big frame buffer is of limited use to an underpowered GPU. The uninitiated would readily jump for the “better” specification they knew, rather than the faster graphics processor they didn't understand as well.

But gamers have since become better-educated with respect to hardware, and many of today’s mainstream cards use fewer of the same expensive memory components as their high-end counterparts. For mainstream and better parts, the economic incentive to expand the memory capacities of low-end cards is almost gone.

More recently, the industry has seen an explosion in both graphics processing and system demands, with games becoming increasingly complicated and gorgeous 30" displays supporting 2560x1600 pixel resolutions. Putting aside marketing tricks of the past, the high end just might be where memory really needs to expand.

You won’t find a higher-end graphics processor than Nvidia's GeForce GTX 285, and that’s why Gigabyte chose it as the first model to support two gigabytes of super-fast GDDR3-2400 memory. Hints of a custom design are seen in its combination of HDMI and VGA connections, rather than a fistful of adapters, and bold claims of a “2 ounce Copper Inner Layer” for its circuit board.

Spreading the VGA and DVI outputs across two connections rather than relying on a second DVI-I interface and adapters eliminated the space Nvidia’s reference design used for its S-Video/Composite combo interface. That’s no big loss to most of us, since those legacy TV outputs were only able to support ultra-low resolutions. Anyone putting this much effort into gaming on a home-theater display should certainly have HDMI, or at least DVI by now.

Gigabyte’s custom circuit board doesn’t look much different than the reference-design cards we’ve seen, though Gigabyte claims slight improvements in its voltage regulator components.

Hynix’s super-fast H5RS1H23MFR-N2C 1Gb GDDR3-2400 memory is clocked at its rated speed, though Gigabyte does overclock the GeForce GTX 285 GPU slightly to 660 MHz, compared to the standard 648 MHz. Unlike Gigabyte’s card, reference models also underclock RAM to a 2,322 MHz data rate.

Price : $360

Google Chrome v3.0. 197.11

Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier. The massive heatsink completely fills the space between the two circuit boards. This also makes the card heavy, which incidentally raised our expectations of cooling performance from such a massive piece of gear.
In order to test the Hydro Copper from EVGA, we used the HyrdroGen cooling rig from MSI because EVGA includes no additional water-cooling parts with this card to help keep costs down. Fortunately, once the GeForce GTX 295 is connected to the water hoses and the liquid starts circulating, the card remains quiet. There's naturally no fan noise at all, even though we're used to lots of racket from cards in this performance class.

After you get used to the relative quiet, you can take a deep breath and enjoy the unusual sensation of an ultra high-end graphics card that runs almost silently. Then, we compared the clock rates for the reference board to those for this EVGA board and our jaws dropped. The standard clocks on a GTX 295 are: 576 MHz on the GPU, 1,242 MHz shaders, and graphics RAM at 2 x 999 MHz. But EVGA raises those specs substantially to 720 MHz for the GPU, 1,548 for the shader clock, and 2 x 1,080 for the graphics RAM.
In our very first benchmark, the 3D power of the dual-GPU card hits a CPU bottleneck in Fallout 3. This overclocked board enables frame rates of nearly 90 frames per second (FPS) for all test resolutions. But the best thing about the EVGA Hydro Copper is that it always stays quiet. Only the two 120 mm, seven volt fans on the MSI HydroGen Radiator make any sound at all. Anybody who has experienced the typical noise levels from an air-cooled Radeon HD 4870 X2 or a GeForce 9800 GX2 will appreciate how well-suited the GTX 295 is for water cooling.
EVGA's package here is nothing short of impressive. Compared to a GeForce GTX 295 running reference frequencies, overclocking delivers a 10.5% performance improvement across the board. Using the normal Radeon HD 4870 X2 as a baseline, the EVGA GTX 295 Hydro Copper is 29.8% faster, which makes a world of difference. At a resolution of 1920x1200, it is nearly impossible to exhaust available 3D performance without hitting a platform ceiling, while at higher resolutions, the differences are even more noticeable. It's going to take awhile for another chip class or test card to match these results. Until then, EVGA and Nvidia will lead our pack of high-end graphics cards.

Our water cooling setup also enables great control over operating temperatures. At idle, the card runs at 39 degree Celsius. At heavy extended 3D load levels, those temperatures climb to a modest 68 degrees Celsius for the GPU core. The cooling system circulates 500 cc of liquid, and the seven volt fans spin relatively slowly. Power consumption also offers some good news: 188 W in 2D mode and 532 W in 3D mode (measured from the wall socket for the entire system). Also, the card clocks down to 300/100 MHz (GPU/graphics RAM) in desktop mode.

The graphics chip supports DirectX 10, PhysX, and CUDA. Both of its PCBs measure 10.4" (26.5 cm) long. Providing ample power necessitates attaching one six-pin and one eight-pin PCIe auxiliary connector, also available on the edge of the board. Thanks to a compact design (relatively), the card covers two expansion slots, just like the reference design and its cooler. Bundled accessories include a cable splitter for power, an HDMI port on the card itself, and an S/PDIF cable for HDMI audio.
As mentioned, there is no water-cooling gear (hoses, connectors, pump, and so forth) included. The cooler on the graphics card is, however, anodized both inside and out. The copper contacts on the GPUs are also nickel-plated to limit corrosion. For long-term use, EVGA recommends a non-conductive coolant to block corrosion and algae growth.

GeForce GTX 275

The BFG GeForce GTX 275 represents great price per performance value in the high-end segment. Those who want more performance than the GeForce GTX 260 is able to deliver, while spending less than the cost of a GeForce GTX 280, would do very well with the 275 (we covered the launch of this board right here).
The GeForce GTX 260 owes much of its popularity to a steep price decline, but you always have to check to see if a particular unit includes 192 or 216 stream processors, since some boards include 55 nm chips, while others use 65 nm GPUs instead. If you buy a GeForce GTX 275, no such checks are needed, since it's basically a tweaked GeForce GTX 280 with 896 MB RAM (and a narrower memory bus) instead of 1 GB, but with 240 complete stream processors and higher clock rates. It uses a 55 nm chip, and even the reference fan is nice and quiet.

The graphics chip supports DirectX 10, PhysX, and CUDA. The circuit board is 10.6" (27 cm) long, and BFG overclocks this model slightly. Reference clock rates on the GTX 275 are 633 MHz for the GPU, 1,404 MHz for the shader, and 1,134 MHz on the GDDR3 memory (for an effective rate of 2,268 MHz). BFG boosts these numbers to 648 MHz, 1,440 MHz, and 2 x 1,152 MHz, for a roughly 1.8% boost in overall performance.

The fan profile extends all the way to 92 degrees Celsius. Our test sample ran at 44.2 decibels, measured at a distance of one meter (dB(A)), which was quieter than a GeForce GTX 280 at 45.5 dB(A). In 2D mode, it's barely audible at 36.8 dB(A).

Despite its use of 55 nm technology, the GeForce GTX 275 doesn't use less power than a GeForce GTX 280 because of its higher clock frequency. The complete test system with a BFG card installed consumed 355 W from the wall socket, while the same setup with the GeForce GTX 280 drew 347 W and a GeForce GTX 260 with 216 stream processors consumed 295 W. The GeForce GTX 275 requires two six-pin PCI Express (PCIe) power connectors that plug into the rear edge of the card. In 2D desktop mode, the card clocks to 300/100 MHz (GPU/RAM).

BFG's bundle is quite minimalist. Two dual-link DVI ports are provided, and there is a power-splitter cable, a driver CD, and a discount coupon for games bundled with the card. There is no HDMI adapter, nor is there an S/PDIF cable included, either.

New Nero 9.4.12.3 Free

Simply Create, Rip, Burn, Copy, Share, Backup, Play, and Enjoy! As a consequence, both products will move in the Extended support phase, which will last for the next five years. The Redmond company is of course using the opportunity in order to stress the importance of upgrades to the latest releases for its main cash cows. Still, the end of mainstream support is not synonymous with completely severing the lifeline of Office 2003 and Windows XP. In fact, both products will continue to be supported until 2014, although the updates provided to customers running the two products will be less diversified.

“Microsoft’s standard support policies dictate that mainstream support will provide free fixes for security and bugs for the life of the product. Mainstream support usually lasts 5 years after which the product would enter a period known as ‘extended support’,” revealed Viral Tarpara, Microsoft IT Pro evangelist. “’Extended Support’ is only provided to customers who have signed support contracts with Microsoft. While Microsoft will continue to provide security fixes for a product for free, any bug fixes or non-security hot fixes will require extended support contracts.”

The following Windows XP SKUs are affected by the mainstream support cut-off: Home Editions, Media Center Edition, XP Professional (both 32-bit and 64-bit), as well as the Tablet PC Edition. Essentially, Microsoft will offer free security updates for Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) until 2014. Office 2003 SKUs affected are: Basic Edition, Professional Edition, Small Business Edition, Standard Edition, Student and Teacher Edition. Extended support for both XP and Office 2003 ends 08/04/2014.

“Naturally, Microsoft wants few people on these types of support contracts as possible, promoting that customers should consider upgrading. Upgrading, however, isn’t always an option so getting extended support is a good way to cover the needs of an enterprise. SMB markets won’t be affected too much by this because they don’t typically do a lot of heavy customization and integration work like enterprises. For what it’s worth, Windows XP and Office 2003 have had a great run,” Tarpara added.

Windows XP Service Pack 3 FINAL can be downloaded via this link.

Office 2003 SP3 is available as a standalone download via this link.
by softpedia.com

Google Chrome 2.0.173.1 beta

The latest version of google chrome has come out.Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier. With the BIOS, the ATI Catalyst driver is able to detect this motherboard as a platform for CrossFire 2 fruit Radeon videocard installed.
Use CrossFire mode is able to increase the 3DMark06 score.
Asrock plans to release a BIOS that can enable CrossFire motherboard to all those who have a nForce chipset.
Asrock action of protest and try to violate this rule should NVIDIA main of.

ATI launches Radeon HD4750 (RV740) videocard first in the world with 40nm technology and the cheapest price

Unlike the NVIDIA innovate the lazy and tend to only do re-branding (name change) to the product length, thus innovate with ATI released a new graphics chip RV740 is a 40nm manufacturing technology.
This means that the RV740 graphics chip to be the world's first 40nm, as well as a proven fact that ATI is able to defeat Intel in manufacturing technology, the silicon chip them. Silicon chip is currently Intel (Penryn, Yorkfield, Nehalem) is still at 45nm.
40nm manufacturing technology allows for the ATI graphics chip is powerful RV740 (clocknya able dipacu high) but with cheaper production costs.
Radeon HD4750 equipped RV740 core is also equipped with GDDR5 memory 128-bit is able to bring higher bandwidth rather than GDDR3, but the price is cheaper.
Because the NVIDIA graphics chip lazy to change and still use the old architecture, the result is they can not benefit from utilizing GDDR5 memory, and will increasingly lose price by ATI.
With all the benefit of the 40nm process GDDR5 memory and 128-bit, the Radeon HD4750 is able to bring the performance of the Radeon HD4830 and HD4850 but with a much cheaper price is only $ 100, which means equal Geforce 9600GT and only slightly more expensive rather than Radeon HD4670 ($ 85 ).
Radeon HD4750 will start circulating in the market in April 2009 this.

The presence of a Radeon HD4750 for $ 100 this will make a videocard as Geforce 9600GT, 9800GT and the Radeon HD4830 is not feasible because the more expensive the price is below the performance of Radeon HD4750.
Even if the Radeon HD4670 is cheaper rather than HD4750, but the price difference is only barely terpaut the performance difference is quite large. Therefore, the truly wise do not buy if the Radeon HD4670.
Radeon HD4850's performance is still rather higher Radeon HD4750, but the performance difference is only barely, while the price difference 2X-fold more expensive than the Radeon HD4750. Therefore, the Radeon HD4850 so less interesting again, because the fish rather than pocket $ 200 to buy Radeon HD4850 is better to buy 2 pieces Radeon HD4750 (2x $ 100) for in-CrossFire that will produce clear performance is much higher rather Radeon HD4870 though.

<span style="color: silver; These new graphics cards are set to cost around $250 US, and at that price they should offer an impressive level of performance. The only question now is which delivers the best performance? On one hand we have the new Radeon HD 4890, which as we mentioned is said to cost around $250 US once available. This is interesting as current Radeon HD 4870 (1GB) graphics cards can be had for as little as $190 US, with most priced between $200 - $210 US. Therefore, what makes this newer version worth around $50 US more?
Simply put, on paper not a lot really, as the Radeon HD 4890 is merely an overclocked Radeon HD 4870. In no way has the core configuration been altered or improved, and the card still features a 256-bit wide memory bus. The only notable changes is the 100MHz boost in core frequency from 750MHz to 850MHz, while the GDDR5 memory has also been overclocked from 3.60GHz to 3.90GHz, other than this it looks to be the same animal.
That said, to run the core at such high frequencies some tweaking had to have been necessary, as existing Radeon HD 4870 graphics cards will only reach 850MHz with drastically improved cooling. So then you are paying $50 US more for a refined version of the Radeon HD 4870 that is capable of running at higher frequencies without sending you deaf.
The GeForce GTX 275 is a little more interesting, as it is almost an entirely new product. I say almost because there is no single GPU graphics card that features the same core configuration as the GeForce GTX 275, but there is a multi-GPU card that does. You guessed it, the GeForce GTX 275 core has been borrowed from the GeForce GTX 295.
This multi-GPU graphics card was a bit of a hybrid, featuring specifications from both the GeForce GTX 260 and GTX 280 graphics cards. This makes the core a perfect contender for the new Radeon HD 4890, as when used in a single configuration it will deliver performance that is faster than the GeForce GTX 260, yet slower than the GTX 280.
Although the core and memory configurations are the same for the new GeForce GTX 275 as they are on the GTX 295, the operating frequencies have been boosted. The core now operates at 633MHz up from 576MHz, while the GDDR3 memory has been increased from 1998MHz to 2328MHz. The GeForce GTX 275 pricing is expected to be between $230 - $280 US, though we expect it to match the pricing of the Radeon HD 4890 graphics cards.
Today’s performance preview is not using the Radeon HD 4890 or the GeForce GTX 275, but rather we have acquired the right hardware to simulate each product. The Radeon HD 4890 performance will be simulated by a Radeon HD 4870 which will be overclocked to 850MHz using a high-end cooler, while the memory will also be pushed to 975MHz. This will give us the exact performance of the upcoming Radeon HD 4890.
Achieving the performance of a GeForce GTX 275 is even easier, as we simply disabled one of the GPU’s on the GeForce GTX 295 and then overclocked it to match the core and memory specifications of the upcoming GeForce GTX 275. So while we are not testing a Radeon HD 4890 or GeForce GTX 275, we are simulating what we strongly believe is their exact performance.
This means that there will be no thermal or power consumption results and these will be included in our proper review on production models later in the week. Furthermore, this means we will not be providing any overclocking results either. For now we are simply giving you a sneak peak at how these cards should perform and compare to one another, as we are 99% certain that what we have here is accurate.
by www.legionhardware.com

New Mozilla Firefox 3.0.8 Final

Mozilla Firefox - faster, more secure, easier to use and sporting a new look, this latest Firefox release sets a new standard for web browser innovation. Mozilla Firefox project (formerly Firebird, which was formerly Phoenix) is a redesign of Mozilla's browser component, written using the XUL user interface language and designed to be cross-platform. They control low-level functions, including two-dimensional (2-D) graphics acceleration; support for input devices such as joysticks, keyboards, and mice; and control of sound mixing and sound output. Because of DirectX, what you experience with your computer is better 3-D graphics and immersive music and audio effects.

Download : DirectX End-User Redistributable 9.0c March 2009
Download : DirectX End-User SDK 9.0c March 2009

by 9down.com

Google chrome 1.0.154.53

Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier. In doing so we find that ASUS has made a hot operating product even hotter, pushing temperatures through the roof! Meanwhile, their non-overclocked base model Radeon HD 4870 X2 receives a much improved cooler, which does not make a whole lot of sense... ATI has made a notable comeback over the past year, with enticing GPU releases that have been able to match and sometimes surpass Nvidia's offerings in terms of performance, power consumption, and value.

However, that's not to say Nvidia has been a sitting duck all this time, as they have promptly answered anything ATI has thrown at them. For example, earlier this year when ATI was claiming back the performance crown with the dual GPU Radeon 3870 X2, Nvidia was quick to react with an even more impressive and better performing card. The GeForce 9800 GX2 followed the same dual GPU path, using Nvidia's SLI technology and a pair of GeForce 8800 GTS 512 GPUs.
Then Nvidia launched their latest generation graphics cards consisting of the GeForce GTX 280 and GTX 260. Yet the Radeon HD 4870 and 4850 proved to be excellent counterparts, offering similar levels of performance for a fraction of the price. As things stand today, the GeForce GTX 280 is the fastest single GPU graphics card available, while the standard Radeon HD 4870 (1GB) is a fair match for the latest revision of the GeForce GTX 260.
However it was AMD that delivered the first current generation dual-GPU graphics card with the Radeon HD 4870 X2, which is effectively two Radeon HD 4870 (1GB) graphics cards operating in Crossfire mode, allowing for an impressive level of performance. For 5 months the Radeon HD 4870 X2 ran unopposed, as the fastest single gaming graphics card in existence.
That said, what arrived 5 months later, on the 8th of January, was nothing short of monstrous. Nvidia created a hybrid GPU that by itself would deliver performance comparable to a GeForce GTX 280. However the new GT200B GPU is not designed to work alone, rather these new GPUs can be found working in pairs on a single PCB board called the GeForce GTX 295.
The result is nothing short of amazing, and those that can afford it will certainly agree. Priced at a cool $500 US, the GeForce GTX 295 is not for the faint hearted. This new dual-GPU Nvidia graphics card has forced down the price of the Radeon HD 4870 X2, which can now be had for $430 US, while the standard Radeon HD 4870 (1GB) graphics has been reduced to just $230 US.
So how does the Radeon HD 4870 X2 stand up to the GeForce GTX 295, keeping in mind that it costs roughly 15% less? Today we are going to find out, as we take a look at the ASUS Radeon HD 4870 X2 TOP which is designed to offer a little more performance than your average Radeon HD 4870 X2 graphics card. Like all ASUS TOP products, this one has been fine tuned for maximum performance, but do we like it and should you bother with this product?

Windows OneCare Live 2.5.2900.22

Windows OneCare is a comprehensive and integrated PC health service that helps protect and maintain your computer with antivirus, firewall, PC maintenance, and file backup and restore functionality. Mozilla Firefox project (formerly Firebird, which was formerly Phoenix) is a redesign of Mozilla's browser component, written using the XUL user interface language and designed to be cross-platform. It is small, fast and easy to use, and offers many advantages over other web browsers, such as the tabbed browsing and the ability to block pop-up windows. Mozilla Firefox 3 is focused on improved memory handling, performance, and stability, improved XUL, and new core components such as application data stored in SQLite. Firefox 3 is based on the Gecko 1.9 Web rendering platform, which has been under development for the past 34 months. This new platform includes more than 15,000 changes to improve performance, stability, rendering correctness, and code simplification and sustainability. Firefox 3 is been built on top of this new platform resulting in a more secure, easier to use, more personal product with a lot more under the hood to offer website and Firefox add-on developers.
from : http://freesoftwarefreeutilities.blogspot.com

Link : Mozilla Firefox 3.0.7 Final

Mozilla firefox 3.0.7 Portable

Mozilla firefox 3.0.5

Google Chrome 2.0.164.0
Windows Internet Explorer 8

INTEL CORE 2 DUO E7200

The new 45nm ‘Wolfdale’ CPUs have hit the desktop market and are the latest and greatest from Intel for the mainstream desktop market. But the Wolfdales are still relatively pricey, as one is expected to pay a premium for the latest technology and performance. However, Intel now has the 45nm line in full force with the release of the ‘budget’ 45nm CPU, the C2D E7200.
Dubbed the Wolfdale-3M, the E7200 features the same architecture and 45nm process as the other Wolfdales, but has its L2 cache cut down from 6MB to 3MB. The default FSB is now also 1066MHz and the cores run at a clock speed of 2.53GHz. How do these toned-down specs compare in performance?
In POV-Ray, the E7200 managed 769.92 points using both cores. Compare this with an E8500 running at 3.16GHz which scored 967.82 points. That puts the E7200 at about 80% of performance of the E8500. But the E8500 costs more than DOUBLE the price of an E7200. The results tell the same story with Cinebench, at 856 points on all cores for the E7200. For casual Vista desktop use, the Windows Experience Index puts the overall score of our testbed with the E7200 at 5.9 points – the same as a Quad-core Xeon X5365.
With retail prices hovering around $140 for a E7200, the price-performance value of this ‘budget’ Wolfdale is truly remarkable. Being 45nm also means it enjoys the benefits of efficient power and heat dissipation, suggesting high overclocking potential.

AMD FirePro V8700

AMD's RV770 graphics processor, so well-known for its use in gaming variants of the Radeon HD 4870, is now being used in the company's workstation graphics cards. At the same time, AMD has stepped away from its well-known FireGL brand; the most current professional graphics adapters now carry a FirePro label. Tom's Hardware has been lucky enough to score an early production model, the FirePro V8700, for comprehensive benchmarking.
The FirePro boards also mark a complete switchover by AMD from 80 to 55 nanometer manufacturing technology. Buyers should rejoice in that this means reduced power consumption, and correspondingly quieter cooling fans. But can a smaller die size and related technological advancements also improve performance?
Price is certainly a key factor here. At a price of $930 at Newegg, the V8700 is an astounding $284 cheaper than its predecessor, the FireGL V8600. Until this product hit the market, AMD's ATI division had always placed great emphasis on maintaining price-performance ratios across similar products of its own design.
Nvidia has historically been able to outperform similar ATI products at the highest end of its product offerings. These days, Nvidia buyers must be willing to settle for performance parity instead--for example, see our previous article, "Pro Graphics: Seven Cards Compared".
It's not completely clear to us why ATI has suddenly dropped the GL suffix from its Fire brand names, replacing that portion of that name with "Pro" instead. In discussions with product managers at ATI, we were repeatedly informed that "Pro" stands for "Professional" and thus better speaks to the goals of the workstation graphics group. Nevertheless, we believe that it can be risky to mess around with established brand names. Perhaps it makes more sense to see this move as a way of de-emphasizing differences between OpenGL and DirectX technologies? Either way, ATI has decided to switch its branding completely from FireGL to FirePro.

ASUS EN8800GT Glaciator Fansink

Asus has released the newest thermal solution – the Glaciator Fansink; that is incorporated with the EN8800GT TOP/G/HTDP/512M, EN8800GT/G/HTDP/512M, and EN8800GT/G/HTDP/256M graphic cards.
